WHAT TO EXPECT WHILE

BEING COACHED

Hello and thank you for signing up for a coaching program with me.

I coach with my whole heart and see this work as sacred, life-changing, and life-enhancing. Our private and confidential work has the potential to dynamic one-in-a-lifetime breakthroughs.

If I’ve agreed to coach you, this means I think I can help you. I am betting that you are talented, smart, and high-functioning. And… that you are also seeking growth. That’s what I help facilitate.

In every session we have, you can expect me to fully consider the full complexity and range of talents, education, and soul that you bring to your work. If I am not hitting the mark at any time, please let me know.

I take my coaching education and certifications very seriously. I am often engaged in training to upgrade my coaching abilities as well as my own personal development. Coaching is a heart-centered business, and I feel it is my calling to help others.

Every client has a topic that can be clearly stated, and often, additional documentation about what we are working on and how it will help them improve their lives.

I do not sell my services for random conversations.

That said, sometimes we need an open field to explore and find new topics.

Here’s what to expect from my coaching:

  • My full attention and manage the time and pace of your program and each session.

  • A short recap or email reminder of what was discussed.

  • One or two new ideas, practices, or perspectives that you will be able to work for your life that relates to your topic.

My Expectations of You

Tell me your preferred communication style

  • Zoom is the default and most common way I meet with clients. It works VERY well.

  • Phone is the next most common and helpful to those suffering from screen fatigue or wanting to be less influenced by visual distractions. I think this is a very effective way to meet.

  • In-Person sessions are ideal and my favorite, but can cost extra if travel is involved. Most of my clients live outside of Washington State.

Be engaged

Please come to each session with at least one item to discuss. This can be an insight, a question, or a goal for the session. Please share as much as you are comfortable with sharing as it relates to your program.

Give Your Best Effort

Be willing to invest some outside time into your coaching program practices and reflection. You will get out of the session what you put into the session. Not looking for perfection. Don’t worry about impressing me. Just expecting a solid effort and reporting on how things are going with integrating our work into your life.

Be Mindful About Cancellations

Please give 48-hour notice if you must cancel or change a session. I have to charge you otherwise. Exception: I allow one emergency cancellation per client per calendar year. (under 48-hour cancellation). Please do not cancel a session because you didn’t do your practice or there is nothing to talk about. These are both forms of resistance and often need to be discussed.

Send Me Feedback

Please let me know if my coaching is not serving you as expected or needed and we can either improve things or part ways. I do not have or enforce coaching contracts. You are free to go or stay as you like. I prefer to have the authentic relationship we have guide our coaching and also our business relationship.

Billing and Payment

I invoice at the end of each month for the prior month’s sessions. I sometimes make mistakes, however so if you catch an error, please feel free to bring it up. Payment is usually expected within 30 days unless that is a hardship. Please let me know.

Completing Your Coaching Program

You can complete your coaching program at any time. My preference is for you and I to discuss and debrief the completion of your coaching program in a full session. Our final session is often one of the most powerful sessions we will ever have together.

Testimonials Please

Word of mouth is the happiest and most exciting way to grow my business. I would love a testimonial from you if you feel I have helped you. You can do this at any point in your coaching program. You do not have to wait until our coaching has been completed but that is also a great time to send me a few words on how my coaching has helped you so that I may help others. Your coaching topic and sessions will always be confidential so the only thing I would share is that you were a client and the words that you send and approve.

Not to add pressure but to share that only 1 out of 20 of my clients actually take the time to provide a testimonial. When I receive them, you should know that I cherish them, print them and read them aloud once a year to remind me of our work together.

Now, let’s get back to focusing on YOU and your growth! I can’t wait to see how you’ll change and grow the way your heart is desiring.

See you in our next session!

Dave

“Working with Dave has been a life-changing experience. He helps me take on the hard work, and guides me through difficulties that spanned professional and personal borders. My trust in his counsel is complete, and I've found better awareness and more confidence in practically every situation I encounter. I couldn’t wish for a better coach and mentor.”

“Dave is a secret weapon to so many in the digital media industry. During one particularly difficult month, he coached our team through tactical negotiations, offered up his vast network, retooled our sales, and facilitated team off-sites. As a result, we drove Real Industry to cash flow positivity and are on track.

“Dave is extremely flexible, easy-going, quick-minded and just darn smart! He has a lot of emotional intelligence and is very skillful in interacting with others. He is a warm-hearted, deeply kind man. In a world full of people who ‘oversell’, Dave values high-quality work and brings a strong sense of integrity to his interactions and dealings with others. His profound sense of serving his clients well, is very present in him.”

“Dave coached me during a very tough year for many of us.  Yet he remained so centered, and so open and honest. He helped me navigate through a period in time when it was hard to think about the right path. He is one of the kindest people I have come to know.  He works hard, really listens to what you are saying, is genuine in his approach and I believe he is everything you would want in a coach.
