Haystack Music Fest: I’m All In (and Playing Too!)
This summer, I’m proud to support the launch of a brand-new music festival founded by my friend, mentor, and jazz piano genius, Danny Kolke. Danny and I go way back—we attended Edmonds Community College, played in the big band, and I’ve admired his passion for building community through music ever since.
He’s the driving force behind several wildly successful Jazz Walks and Blues Walks in Edmonds and North Bend—events that regularly fill the streets with families, music lovers, and the joyful sound of live music. Now he’s at it again, bringing the first-ever Haystack Music Fest to North Bend on Saturday, July 12.
This grassroots, community-powered festival will light up 17 venues with 21 bands (check out this lineup!) —celebrating the rich spirit of Americana while raising funds for local music education.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been helping out however I can—booking artists, hanging posters, writing copy, and helping with social media. But I’m also playing a set myself at Boxley’s with my band GMC, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Greenwood Music Collective – Live at Haystack
Can you guess how we got our name?
My band, Greenwood Music Collective, will be performing a special set. It’s a soulful, rootsy crew I’m honored to play with:
Michela Miller – A jaw-dropping vocalist and badass science teacher by day.
Jack Quick – Seattle’s underground string legend, singing and picking banjo/guitar like nobody else.
Mark Kanning – An incredible multi-instrumentalist who’ll be holding it down on bass. Here’s a recent song from Mark.
And me—on keys, drums, vocals, or whatever the moment needs.
Each of us will share a few original tunes, and we’re working up some special Americana covers just for Haystack
Music runs 6 PM to midnight, and tickets are available at:

Hope to see you there, friends.
