Making Peace with Self-Doubt — Live at NAMM 2026

Thursday, January 22, 2026 · 10:00–10:30 AM
Anaheim Hilton, Level 2 — California Ballroom A

I’m grateful to be back at NAMM with a short, practical session on creative confidence. After wrestling with my own self-doubt as a songwriter, tech executive, and coach, I wrote Doubt Riding Shotgun (2023) and began teaching this work for songwriters and businesspeople, including Andrea Stolpe’s EMC community, Production Music Association (PMC 2025), Pandion Music, and more.

What the session covers

Confidence is essential for a sustainable creative life, yet many of us wrestle with fear, perfectionism, and impostor syndrome. In this 30-minute talk, I’ll share tools I use with artists and teams to steady focus and keep momentum.

You’ll learn:

  • A kinder, repeatable way to work with self-doubt (not against it)

  • Practical techniques to quiet perfectionism and analysis paralysis

  • How to set process goals that protect attention and progress

  • Simple pre-show / pre-session routines to settle nerves

Who it’s for:
Artists, producers, engineers, educators, and music-tech pros looking for steadier confidence and clearer direction—on stage, in the studio, and at work.

Bring a friend, come as you are, and leave with a few tools you can put to use right away! Last year’s session was packed so get there early to get a good seat.
